AMERICAN CORNER is a mini library that typically consists of a collection of 1000 books and of course are free and open to all interested citizens . It also provides information about the U.S through supervised access to the internet , audio and video products as well as CD-ROM , journals, magazines etc.

AMERICAN CORNER -PEMBA has been established within the PEMBA PUBLIC LIBRARY , Chachani , Chake Chake ,Pemba.

The center was inaugurated September 29, 2008 by U.S DEPUTY AMBASSADOR ,

HON. Larry Andre .

American Corners bring the true story of the United States to the people , counteracting negative preconceptions, maintaining an open dialogue and building bridges of understandinding

Resources found at the American Corners help individuals expand their skills and understanding AMERICAN VALUES.

The most IMPORTANT thing is that the resources housed at the ACs are made available to anyone who wish to use them.

AMERICAN CORNER PEMBA has four computers with internet .

American Corner Pemba provides free services mainly to

> OPEN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

> SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

> PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

> SCHOOL LEAVERS AND YOUTH

> PRIVATE SCHOOL CANDIDATES

> CIVIL SERVANTS.

American Corner is open from Monday to Saturday .
